Job Description


The Regional Director will be a prominent contributor toward the growth and innovation of Bausch+Ströbel. The ideal candidate will have a tenured background in the pharmaceutical packaging/manufacturing industry or similar experience. A key responsibility will be in identifying new opportunities to grow the B+S customer base and profitability. The Regional Director will be a member of a highly collaborative team and report directly to the North American Sales & Business Development Director and coordinate sales efforts with the technical sales team and technical departments in Germany.

Home Office/Travel: Our North American location is in Branford, CT. This position will be based out of your home office located in the Mid-West Region of the US. The job comes with traveling opportunity and the focus is on being a key partner and team member for our organization and customers. Travel overnight to pharmaceutical companies, trade shows, training sessions, current customers, and project partners in North America and Europe, our US headquarters in Branford, CT, and to our headquarters in Germany is typical.

Responsibilities:

  • Identification and development of new commercial partnerships
  • Analyzes regional market dynamics in an effort to maximize existing success and create new growth opportunities
  • Develop annual territory business plans in alignment with corporate goals
  • Manage sales efforts in accordance with objectives, strategies, and priorities
  • Coordinate with headquarter to develop and execute local sales strategy based on targets
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with our customers within the territory
  • Visit existing and potential customers to inquire about current performance and future needs
  • Maintain competitor and market awareness
  • Exhibit professional sales standards and practices that enhance companies’ status and image on the market
  • Attend trade shows conferences and industry-relevant events and maintain industry network
  • Facilitate/maintain strong connections with industry partners
  • Support and help customers during the complete product life cycle as an account manager in coordination with our service organization
  • Preparing and giving technical presentations to explain Bausch+Ströbel’s products.
  • Consulting the customer on complex equipment and industry standards based on individual and customized offers and presentations
  • Preparing written reports (English) reflecting the main topics and resulting activities.
  • Support marketing activities based on the overall marketing strategy and oversee implementation of the strategies in the region by organizing and running events locally.

Qualifications
  • Home office location needs to provide access for air travel and allow for easy access to key customers in the Mid-West Region of the US.
  • A strong background in business and customer service
  • Proven record of success selling multi-million-dollar automation equipment lines or facility/accessory products for the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • An effective networker with demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with decision-makers
  • Independent with results-driven principles
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Willingness to continue sales, product, marketing, and engineering education

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. in business, mechanical or chemical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical packaging industry, territory sales, and account management
  • Knowledge about pharmaceutical process regulations and conditions is a plus
  • International experience is a plus

Language Skills:

  • Excellent command of the English language, including secure written and verbal communication skills, by means of using logic and structure, grammar, usage, syntax, and punctuation, for emails, letters, reports, and presentations
  • Prepare presentations and reports.
  • Communicate with our German parent company.

Computer Skills:

  • Savvy with technology – knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet research, and data management
  • Competence with social media including LinkedIn

Position Type:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Exempt employees are expected to be available during the normal workday. Compensation is not determined by the specific number of hours worked; an exempt position normally requires a minimum of 40 hours
